Marematlou Training Institute (Pty)Ltd and Sarah Baartman District Meeting.

Marematlou Training Institute (MTI) and Sarah Baartman District had a meeting on the 21 – 22 August 2023, at Garden Court Hotel in Port Elizabeth.

The meeting was attended by the District Director: Mr. N. De Bruyn and the District Management Team (DMT); namely, Subject Advisors, Circuit Managers, and Curriculum Education Specialists of the Sarah Baartman district.  Officials from JENN TC were as follows: Ms. A, De Jongh, Mrs. Legegeru, Dr. Binduko, Mr. Motloung, Mr Mahaye, and Ms. Bihi.

The rationale for the meeting was to forge a close working relationship between JENN TC and the Sarah Baartman District.  District Director: De Bruyn also stated “Sarah Baartman district appreciates the opportunity to be part of a winning team and to tap into the advice and experiences of JENN TC.

The chairperson for day 1 was Mr. Matyolo.  Proceedings entailed setting the scene by the District Director and followed by Presentations from the circuit managers.  Day 2 was facilitated by Mrs. Hanisi focusing on the presentations by circuit managers and a Presentation by JENN TC Grade 12 Intervention, Leadership and Management programme and the Advanced Diploma in School Leadership and Management.

JENN TC outlined its intervention and implementation strategy and upon listening to all presentations and district successes and challenges.  Presentations were aligned to focus on common ground, possible recommendations, and strategies for addressing challenges.

Furthermore, JENN TC, through MTI afforded the district the opportunity to have a preview of the continuing interventions that are employed currently in Sarah Baartman. Namely, Leadership and Management Training programme and brief feedback pertaining to students from the districts who are currently registered in the Advanced Diploma in School Leadership and Management.

All three (3) presentations were well received, and the district was eager to pursue and strengthen its involvement with JENN TC and Marematlou Training Institute.
