MGH Celebrates Women Who Are Blooming with Purpose
Marematlou Group Holdings (MGH) is proud to celebrate Women’s Day with a special brunch held under the theme, “Blooming with Purpose.”
Took place on 7 August 2026 at the MGH campus, the celebration recognised women who continue to bloom through resilience, purpose, compassion and leadership. It provides an opportunity for women to pause, connect and reflect on the important roles they play within the workplace, their families and their communities.
The programme included a reflection on the history of South African Women’s Day, honouring the courage of more than 20,000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the unjust pass laws. Their courage and unity remain a powerful reminder of the strength of South African women.
The event featured Ms Tankiso Morule as the guest speaker. Ms Morule is a respected leader, entrepreneur and passionate advocate for women’s leadership and empowerment. Her extensive experience spans business, governance, tourism, public administration and community leadership.
MGH CEO, Ms Florence Selesho, has also deliver a special appreciation message recognising the dedication, strength and meaningful contributions of the women within the organisation.
As part of the celebration, each woman received a Monstera deliciosa plant. Like the Monstera, women grow through different stages, reach towards the light and become stronger through every season. Its distinctive leaves remind us that our experiences and challenges do not diminish our beauty, they form part of our unique stories.
The plant also represents the importance of creating space for others to grow. As women continue to rise and flourish, they are encouraged to support, uplift and open opportunities for the women around them.
Through “Blooming with Purpose,” MGH celebrates women not only for what they achieve, but also for the courage, compassion and purpose they demonstrate every day.
