
Honoring Excellence in Education: The Prof. Mohlouwa Selesho Teacher’s Awards 2025
On March 7, 2025, educators, principals, and key stakeholders in the education sector gathered to celebrate excellence in teaching at the 3rd JENN-SADTU Free State Teachers Awards. This year’s event was particularly special, marking the official launch of the newly renamed Prof. Mohlouwa Selesho Teacher’s Awards under the theme:
“Recognizing Outstanding Achievements in Education and Commemorating 12 Years of Dedicated Effort and Excellence.”
A Tribute to a Legacy of Excellence
Previously known as the JENN-SADTU Free State Teachers Awards, the event was renamed in honor of the late Prof. Mohlouwa Selesho, former CEO of Marematlou Group Holdings. His unwavering dedication to education and leadership in professional development left a lasting impact, making this name change a fitting tribute to his legacy.
An Evening of Recognition and Celebration
Held at the Marematlou Training Institute and generously sponsored by JENN Training and Consultancy, the event welcomed 200 attendees, including educators, Principals, and representatives from the education sector. The day was a heartfelt celebration of those who go above and beyond in shaping young minds, fostering innovation, and inspiring excellence in the classroom.
Through inspiring speeches, well-deserved awards, and moments of reflection, the event highlighted the critical role of teachers in shaping the future.
