Marematlou Training Institute (Pty) Ltd together with Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality held Water and Wastewater Reticulation Service Learnership Workplace Induction.
Learnerships are valuable programs that combine theoretical knowledge with practical work experience, providing participants with the skills and training necessary for successful careers in various industries. Thus, one crucial phase of the learnership journey is the induction process for learnership students as they transition from an educational setting to the workplace.
Marematlou Training Institute together with Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality through its respective departments held a successful learner induction session on campus in an effort to ensure that learners understand project requirements and expectations attached to their work placement. Through Mangaung Municipality HR & HRD office, Mr. Melesi and Ms. Sempe outlined labour regulations to learners with reference to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act. Their presentations covered but were not limited to the following topics:
- Workplace Policies and Procedures
- Health and Safety Training
- Job Specific Training
- Mentorship and Buddy System
- Communication and Teamwork
Therefore, it can be concluded that an effective learnership students induction program sets the foundation for a successful workplace placement experience. By providing learners with essential information, support, and training, organizations can ensure a smooth transition and the development of competent, confident, and productive employees. Moreover, a well-designed induction program reflects an organization’s commitment to its learners’ well-being and growth, ultimately contributing to a positive and fulfilling work environment.
